a special lady was born on this day.

Today is my mom's birthday.

And not only is she my mom.

but she's my best friend in the entire world.

she encourages me.

every hug is a safe place and a breath of fresh air.

and i pray one day i can be half the mom she is.

i had such a happy moment yesterday.

as Mer, Quinn and I were treasure hunting through the racks at Potters House Thrift Store yesterday afternoon, "simple life" by the weepies came on.

it was pure bliss.

i might have closed my eyes for a few seconds to savor the moment.

we also snagged some good finds, and i grabbed a few things for the sale!

(which is going to be at the end of the year, stay tuned for some previews of the clothes that i will be selling!)

Ahh... Thursday's are probably my favorite day of the week.

Since i don't have classes on Fridays, Thursdays are the beginning of my weekend.

Another thrifting trip is already planned for tomorrow with Lauren, Macy and Mer

.... and i cant wait!

I love my major.

Reasons why:

1. Cutting out pictures from magazines for a semester notebook.

2. Going to the mall to take pictures of signage

3. Learning to sew

4. Talking to the girls in my classes about fashion 3 days a week..

5. .... i'll figure this one out later.

But seriously! It's so fun and i learn something new everyday!

Let's not talk about how i got an email yesterday telling me i made the honor roll for the first time ever!!! ...... mama is proud.

i do love coffee...but this is just a little crazy..

I went to my first (ever) Arkansas Hockey game last night with some new friends!

We played LSU and beat them 11-1...and apparently that's a really high scoring game for hockey.

We played games after and i discovered a game i'm actually good called naked. (disregard)

What a sweet surprise!

The kappa house was a happy place around 9:00 am when we all got the school cancellation text/email/voicemail.

The day consisted of a morning movie in the red couch room (pajamas required)

Taco-bar for lunch

Trek out in the snow for coffee at common grounds

Sledding on campus

Ending the day with a fire and some good time with friends!

Pretty much the ideal day for me.

I'm also busy tossing around the idea of maybe selling a bunch of my thrift finds at the end of the semester... what does everyone think?

I know a lot of girls would love to be able to thrift for the fun and price...but just don't know what to look for, so how about i just bring the thrift store to them?
